Richard B. Vinson

Dr. Vinson is New Testament editor for the Smyth and Helwys Bible Commentary Series and past Book Review editor of Perspectives in Religious Studies. He is the author of the forthcoming The Gospel of Luke (Smyth and Helwys Commentary) and twenty-five entries in The New Interpreter’s Dictionary of the Bible. He has written numerous articles and reviews and has sermons published in The Minister’s Manual (2006-07). Professor Vinson is past Dean of Faculty at BTSR and while at Averett College served as Dean of Arts and Sciences, Professor of Religion, Director of Institutional Research and Director of Freshman Studies. He has also pastored several churches including as an Associate Pastor of West Main Baptist Church in Danville, Virginia.
