Solon B. Cousins Lectures

The Solon B. Cousins Lectures draw outstanding scholars to join the BTSR community and Seminary for discourse on biblical and theological issues.  This year we are very pleased to have with us Professor J. Kameron Carter, Ph.D., of Duke Divinity School.

Professor J. Kameron Carter, Ph.D., teaches courses in both theology and black church studies.  Working as a theologian, he addresses the basic areas of Christian thought, especially attending to Christology and theological anthropology.  He is currently working on a new book on the ideological uses of Jesus in the modern invention of the human, which Professor Carter calls the problem of "the cultural Jesus."  The book will explore the identity of Jesus and the politics of his identity in light of the new, global realities of the 21st century.

Dr. Carter will grace our pulpit at Chapel, 10:25 a.m. on March 19 and March 20, 2013.
