On April 1, 2018, we welcome a new member of the staff to our community, Mr. Michael Strader. Michael joins our staff as Interim Vice President of Advancement. With a experiences in fundraising, from offices in higher education, such as Barton College and Guilford College, to development leadership in non-profit agencies, Conservation Trust for North Carolina and National Naval Aviation Museum, Strader brings a wide portfolio of knowledge and skills to BTSR. No stranger to the Baptist community, Michael also works closely with Baptist News Global having joined the Crouch & Associates team in 2016.  Strader understands the mission of BTSR: “I’m hoping to maintain the momentum Rob Fox and his team at BTSR brought to the Advancement Office. I plan to assist President Bridges in every way possible as I reach out to donors who support and love the theological education BTSR brings, and work to enlist new donors who wish to support our mission and students we serve.”

We congratulate Mr. Rob Fox on his new appointment as President/CEO of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship Church Benefits in Decatur, Georgia, effective April 1, 2018. Rob, a graduate of the University of Mary Washington, was ordained by Culpeper Baptist Church and enrolled at BTSR as a student in 1996 and graduated with a Master of Divinity in 1999. Rob served as BTSR’s Director of Admissions from 2001-2006. After service with CBF Virginia and Union Presbyterian Seminary, Rob returned to his seminary alma mater in 2015 as Vice President of Advancement. Rob has done tremendous work in reconnecting with our beloved BTSR community of donors, including alumni and alumnae. We appreciate his work tremendously. Rob’s leadership in the BTSR community and the larger community of Baptist life is admired and appreciated, and he will be missed here in Virginia.  We will be following him and cheering him on as he begins this new work in Decatur with CBF.
